While Bitcoin is skyrocketing these days on the markets (it was worth over $69,000 in Canadian dollars at the time of writing), a leading car dealership in Canada has just announced that it now accepts cryptography. And it’s a Quebec car dealership that makes history.
Curious but no customers yet
Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin are now accepted at BMW Laval for the purchase and maintenance of vehicles. « It’s time to dust off our industry. In addition to broadening our payment methods, we are convinced that this strategy will contribute to increasing our visibility in terms of online sales, » says Massimo D’Argenio, General Manager of BMW Laval. And it works.
The BMW Laval team is still waiting for its first customer who will pay using cryptography. « But we already have a lot of curious consumers asking questions about cryptosurveillance, » says D’Argenio.
Partnership with Alt 5 Sigma
To set up this method of payment, BMW Laval has partnered with the financial technology company Alt 5 Sigma. « Thanks to this partnership, it is this company that takes the risks with this currency that can be quite volatile on the markets, » says the dealership.
« We wanted to be in the lead for this move. I’m convinced that we’ve just started a new trend, » he concludes.
