Bordier & Cie SCmA expands its offer to include cryptosystems

Bordier & Cie SCmA offers cryptosystems to its clients via Sygnum’s B2B banking platform.

Bordier & Cie SCmA, a leading Swiss private banker, is expanding its offer to include cryptosystems by integrating Sygnum’s B2B banking platform. This partnership now enables Bordier’s clients* to invest in digital assets in complete security and lays the foundations for a broader range of regulated investment services and products, including sophisticated trading strategies such as options and the possibility of investing via tokenization in previously hard-to-reach asset classes.

In response to growing demand, Bordier has expanded its private banking offering to include digital assets. This extension of its product and service offering was achieved through a partnership with Sygnum Bank. Sygnum’s all-in-one digital asset management solution is seamlessly integrated into Bordier’s existing infrastructure. Bordier’s customers can now purchase, hold and exchange cryptos in « execution only » mode, allowing them to exchange bitcoins, ethereums, cash bitcoins and tezos, while benefiting from the highest standards of security and regulation as provided by a Swiss bank. The offer will be expanded as customers become more familiar with this new service.

Diversification of investments via cryptomoney services has accelerated sharply

Cryptomoney has grown in importance over the past year, with total market capitalization almost quadrupling to $1 trillion, making cryptomoney the top-performing asset class in 2020. In a portfolio context, the strong growth and low correlation of cryptomoney products relative to traditional assets provides a powerful diversification tool and allows for superior risk-adjusted returns. Bitcoin, in particular, which many see as the new « digital gold » because of its ability to hedge against inflation, has seen strong institutional adoption as an alternative investment.

Evrard Bordier (photo), Partner at Bordier, said: « We have seen a growing demand from our clients for diversification into alternative asset classes such as digital assets. By partnering with Sygnum Bank, we are providing our clients* with a unique, integrated solution, while enabling them to invest in this new high-growth asset class with confidence and security.

Sygnum’s integrated all-in-one solution delivered quickly

Sygnum’s B2B banking platform is an integrated digital asset solution, encompassing not only the technical infrastructure but also compliance, research, team training and access to a wide range of digital asset products. Thanks to easy integration and modular configuration, Bordier was able to design, customize and implement its own secure digital asset offering in less than 60 days.

As part of this partnership, Sygnum provides its expertise in the field of digital assets and a B2B banking platform, which includes private key retention, selection and access to liquidity providers, anti-money laundering measures for digital assets and transaction tracking. The partnership simplifies the transaction process by eliminating multiple channels. Bordier will continue to manage relationships with its customers*, who will be able to access the digital asset management platform.

« Bordier is continuing its age-old tradition of preserving and developing its clients’ wealth by offering them the « next generation » of assets. Bordier’s timeless values and Sygnum Bank’s vision for the future of the financial sector act as a powerful combination in a rapidly changing financial environment, » added Mathias Imbach, CEO of Sygnum Bank Group.
