Expressing concern about the risks to which consumers are exposed, Ms Lagarde expressed her hope for a regulation of cryptoactives.

« It is imperative that if an activity is conducted by a private actor, this activity, if it is similar to currency, must be subject to exactly the same rules, exactly the same rations, exactly the same supervision mechanisms », she said.
